Inna Lillahi… Bandits Shoot Our Colleague

Our colleague, Ahmed Sani, formerly a staff of Media Trust Limited (Daily Trust, Abuja) suffered a tragic incident last Friday evening, when he encountered cattle rustlers who shot him.
According to what happened, he was returning from the farm and was on his way home to Rigasa, Kaduna, when he came across the bandits. They shot another man who was close to our colleague, Sani.
The man who was near him died instantly, while one of the bullets struck our colleague in the thigh and groin area.
Our colleague was fortunate that soldiers were pursuing the bandits. They immediately came to his rescue and saved his life. He is currently receiving treatment at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
His condition is said to be stable, and it is expected that he will undergo surgery today.
We appeal to our relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember him in their prayers. May Allah grant him a speedy recovery, make this incident an expiation for his sins, and bring an end to this insecurity that continues to affect our communities.
