AREWA
(A Poem)

°°°
In a region failed,
Where hope doth fade,
Devastated lands,
With sorrow made.
Rejected by many,
Left to decay,
Disunited hearts,
In disarray.
Ravaged by time,
And circumstance cold,
Hunger afflicted, Young and old.
Sick with despair,
And worn away,
Calamity’s grasp,
Holds sway.
In this darkest night,
A cry goes out,
For a saviour,
To rout the doubt.
What’s the way out,
Of this plight?
A beacon of hope,
To shine so bright.
Let’s wake up,
To a brand new day,
Where love and unity, Show the way.
Let’s rise above,
The pain and fear,
And build a future, Crystal clear.
With hearts united
We’ll find the strength,
To overcome,
And rise at length.
No longer failed,
But reborn anew,
A brighter tomorrow,
For me and you.
The need for a saviour,
Will fade away,
As we become,
The change we sway.
With every step,
And every fall,
We’ll rise again,
Standing tall.
In this region,
Once devastated and worn,
A new dawn breaks With hope reborn.
No longer rejected,
But embraced with love,
A united people,
Sent from above.
The hunger afflicted,
Will be fed,
The sick will heal,
And the heart will be led.
Calamity’s grasp,
Will loosen its hold,
As we awaken,
To a brighter gold.
The way out,
Was within us all along,
A collective rise,
A united song.
Let’s wake up,
To this brand new day,
And build a world,
Where love finds its way.
With every voice,
And every heart,
We’ll rise above,
And never depart.
From this region,
Once failed and worn,
To a brighter tomorrow,
Where love is born.
In this newfound dawn,
We’ll find our way,
Together united,
Come what may.
No longer disunited,
But one in soul,
A region reborn,
With love as its goal.
Kidnapping shadows,
Once held sway,
Corruption’s grip,
Faded away.
Gun-trotting youth,
Mo longer roam,
Instilling fear,
And terror’s home.
Atrocities,
That once held tight,
Are now but memories,
Of a darkest night.
The region rises,
From the ashes cold,
A phoenix born,
With a story untold.
In this new light,
We’ll find our stand,
United against,
The atrocities’ hand.
With love and hope,
We’ll pave the way,
For a brighter tomorrow,
Starting today.
