Some time ago Gizago had reported speculation on a move to return former Emir Sanusi that has now become a reality.
The problem now is how to resolve the debacle to the satisfaction of all and ensuring an enduring peace and stability in one of the most populous States in the country.
Certainly, it is quite apparent the manner of enthronement of both has seen the invasion of politics into the traditional system.
Only God knows how the future will play out and whether the schemers from both sides shall learn lessons from the unfolding events.
As the saying goes, when elephants fight it is the grass that suffers. Likewise under the present circumstances in Kano, it is the interest of the common man that is at stake.
Polarisation has been introduced into what is supposed to be a common front in a progressive societal march forward.
For sure the greater sympathy of all persons of goodwill lies with the common man and all look forward to a quick and peaceful resolution, as well as an enduring peace and stability to prevail in Kano State
Hopefully, at the end of it all, lessons would be learnt to avert a repeat of such happenings in Kano or other parts of the country.
Unfortunately, as events show, it is not only the traditional system of kingship that suffers, the image of the judiciary too is severely bruised, no matter the final resolution of the debacle.
