YUSUFARI EMIRATE COUNCIL CONFERS TRADITIONAL TITLES TO LIEUTENANT GENERAL TY BURATAI (RTD) CFR, ENGINEER HASSAN MUHAMMAD AND OTHERS
Today, Sunday 31st December 2023, the Yusufari Emirate Council of Yobe State under the leadership of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Mohammed bin Mohammed Zakaria, Emir of Yusufari at his palace, bestowed traditional titles to some of their illustrious sons and other deserving Nigerians who distinguished themselves and contributed to the society.
One of the honorees, Lieutenant General TY Buratai (rtd) CFR, received the prestigious title of “Garkuwan Yusufari” (The Shield of Yusufari), underscoring his remarkable service and commitment to the welfare of the community. Another deserving recipient, Engineer Hassan Muhammad, Sarkin Yakin Garkuwan Keffi and Matawaalen Arewa, was bestowed with the title of “Dan Madamin Yusufari,” recognising his significant role in uplifting the emirate.
The historic event attracted an array of dignitaries from across the nation, a testament to the significance of the occasion. Notable attendees included the President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan GCON PhD and Sardaunan Bade, alongside esteemed government officials, both serving and retired senior military officers, as well as sons and daughters of the Yusufari emirate and neighbouring emirates.
Conferment of traditional titles stands as a powerful reminder of the importance of actively contributing to one’s community, as these traditional titles were conferred upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to humanity. The Yusufari Emirate Council’s decision to honour these outstanding individuals underscores the deep-rooted belief that recognition and accolades should be reserved for those who have made meaningful and lasting impacts on the welfare of their fellow citizens.
As I convey my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Lieutenant General TY Buratai (rtd) CFR Garkuwan Keffi and Betara of Biu and now Garkuwan Yusufari, Engineer Hassan Muhammad, the new Dan Madamin Yusufari, and all other recipients, I pray for Allah’s blessings upon them.
