In a decisive blow against terrorism, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji has dealt a significant blow to terrorist elements in Katsina State.
A recent intelligence-led air strike on a terrorist hideout in Gidan Kare Village, Faskari Local Government Area, resulted in the neutralization of over 80 terrorists and the destruction of 45 motorcycles.
The strike was carried out on the night of June 15, 2024, following reports of terrorists burning houses in a nearby settlement. The Air Component, acting on authorization, struck the location at 9:40 pm, catching the terrorists off guard.
The precise strike resulted in the elimination of over 80 terrorists, with few survivors fleeing or limping away.
The success of the operation is attributed to the synergy between the Air Component and other security agencies, demonstrating the effectiveness of joint efforts in combating terrorism.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, commended the Air Component’s efforts, acknowledging their gallantry and resoluteness in the fight against insurgency and banditry.
The commissioned airfield facilities, including a new taxiway link, operations and engineering building, and sports complex, will enhance air operations in the region, ensuring continued efficiency and effectiveness in the battle against terrorism.
This significant milestone in the counter-terrorism campaign is a testament to the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding the nation and its citizens. The strike has disrupted terrorist activities in the area, and the neutralization of notorious terrorists like Yusuf Yellow and Rabe Imani’s associates has dealt a significant blow to their network.
