Kidnapped children saved by the police

_______________

√ Could It Be That These “Fake Hausas” Are the Ones Kidnapping People to the South?

For a long time, children have been abducted from Northern Nigeria and taken to the southern parts of the country, particularly to Igbo-dominated areas where members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) carry out their activities. There was a recent report that the police in Kaduna State arrested three suspects: Jonathan John, aged 25; Oliver Magaji, aged 27; and Bitrus Sawaba, aged 23.

Before delving into commentary, let us first read the full account of how the incident occurred, as presented by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr, mipra, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Abuja, on January 7, 2026. The statement reads as follows:

The Nigeria Police Force has foiled an attempted attack and a planned child abduction in the Kasuwan Magani area of Kaduna State.

On January 5, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m. the Kaduna State Police Command received credible intelligence that suspected armed criminals were planning to launch an attack and abduct children from vehicles passing through the area. Upon receiving this intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kasuwan Magani, along with a team of police officers, was immediately deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the police engaged the suspects in a confrontation, successfully repelling them and rescuing 76 children, both male and female, aged between 7 and 20 years. None of the rescued children sustained any injuries.

During the operation, three suspects were arrested: Jonathan John (male), aged 25; Oliver Magaji (male), aged 27; and Bitrus Sawaba (male), aged 23.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were transporting the children to other parts of the country for forced labor and domestic servitude. The suspects are currently in police custody, while the rescued children are being kept safely at the State Police Headquarters pending the arrival of their parents or guardians for proper identification and verification.

Meanwhile, investigations have commenced to uncover further details surrounding the incident and to apprehend other accomplices. The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and has appealed to members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information to support security efforts.

√ Points to Consider:

From this major operation carried out by the police in Kaduna State, there are observations suggesting that, if investigations are pursued further, it may be possible to uncover the involvement of IPOB members and so-called “Fake Hausas,” given the apparent collaboration between the two groups.

Moreover, had these individuals not been exposed, they would likely have immediately launched a propaganda campaign, placing the blame on Fulani bandits. However, by the grace of Allah, they were apprehended and none of them are Fulani, nor are they Muslims.

This incident reminds me of an article published on Facebook by a page called Hausaland Magazine. In the article, written in English, the author argued that the time had come for Hausa youths to take up arms to defend themselves against the alleged threat of “Forest Fulani.” The article included photographs of certain young men brandishing firearms. Upon careful examination of those images, it becomes evident that they are not genuine Hausas; rather, they appear to be individuals from other ethnic groups in disguise, attempting to falsely implicate authentic Hausas.

So far, we continue to receive reliable information confirming that those who relentlessly insult Mujaddadi Ɗanfodiyo are not upright individuals; they are not genuine Hausas, nor are they Muslims. This explains why they adopt false Muslim Hausa names as a strategy of deception and mischief. It also explains why they restrict access to their social media profiles. Furthermore, many of them do not even reside in Nigeria.

√ Our Prayer Concerning All Terrorists:

We pray that Allah continues to grant success to our security agencies, enabling them to eliminate all terrorists who take up arms and inflict harm upon society in this country (whoever they may be), whether Fulani, Arabs, Europeans, Jews, Hausas, Birom, Kataf, Igbo, Yoruba, Angas, Bajju; whether Muslim, Christian or adherents of traditional religions.

Amin, thumma Amin.
